2D turbulence-inspired LED hula hoop photos

Turbulence is a multi-dimensional and multi-scale process. In the blue and red image, I can imagine the edges of each substructure curling inwards to form small eddies.
In this photo, I hop forwards, backwards, and sideways while hula-hooping. The motion of a hula hoop is very simple: the hoop orbits an axis of rotation. The image has collective properties which obscure the individual hula hoop orbits (waves). In studies of turbulence, decomposition into individual wave components is nearly impossible because of wave superposition.
